Calisse was born and raised in the Santa Ynez Valley before heading to UC Santa Cruz where she receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies.  From there, Calisse spent the next three years at the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where she earned her JD in 2005.  During law school, Calisse earned Appellate Advocacy Honors, Dean's List 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, was a member of the Traynor Society, and a Client Counseling Competition member.

Her practice began with a large insurance defense litigation firm in Sacramento where she primarily represented insurers in physician malpractice cases, and commercial motor vehicle accidents.  Thereafter, she worked for a boutique law firm specializing in similar types of litigation including construction defect cases.

Calisse returned to the Santa Ynez Valley to give her kids an open-air childhood.  She has maintained her own practice since 2011.  Her practice now focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration, business planning and counseling, contracts, and landlord-tenant matters.  She often serves as Successor Trustee for clients without natural heirs to succeed their estates or who want to relieve their family of the extensive obligations that come with trusteeship.

When Calisse isn't in the office you can find her coaching softball, running a baseball dugout, at the barn with her daughter, and, on a lucky day, in her vegetable garden.  During October, her house transforms into a Halloween wonderland.  She is proud to work with Trunk Full of Miracles to support the needs of the homeless through direct in-kind and cash donations that go 100% to the charity.
